5 Changes for 27

My 27th birthday has came and gone with the quickness. I like to call it Chapter 27. As I reflect on my present and my future, there are a few changes that I feel I need to make.

1 Truly engage. I feel to often we are all disconnected from each other. Not just due to technology and cell phones, but due to being busy. Our responsibilities consume us and we don't make enough time to truly enjoy other around us. So I'm making conscious effort to have more conversation. We all need to enjoy and embrace the people around us because life is just too short.

2. Write. I've been writing since I was a little girl but it's time for me to take it seriously. It's my passion and something that I truly enjoy. God has given a gift that I need to use. I want to share my talent and use it to touch and inform others.

3. Maturity. I can truly be a "petty Betty" at times. But I'm at the point in life where I've realized that behaving that way serves no purpose. While it may be funny in the moment, there is truly no gain from it. At the end of the day, none of that foolishness matters.

4. Learning. There are so many things that I have an interest in. It's time for me to make an effort to learn about these things. Sometimes I feel like we're complacent with not knowing certain things that could be helpful to us. If I find something that I'm interested in, I'm going to push myself to research and become familiar with it.

5. Stop Making Excuses. This one is self explanatory. Whether it's with working out, writing, whatever... the excuses are done for!!

What changes were you determined to make as you got older?
